Hi, I’m Erica.

I first started consulting when I left the full time workforce after the birth of my daughter, and I've never looked back. What began as picking up a grant writing project here and a procurement project there grew into a full time business: e.w. projects. Consulting allows me the flexibility of working with a variety of causes and continuing to make an impact, while inching closer to that elusive work / life balance!

I specialize in institutional fundraising strategy and development, including corporate partnerships, private foundations, and government funding (state and federal grants). I also work with clients to prepare contract and procurement proposals, and I have experience on the private foundation side, reviewing and summarizing grant proposals and reports.

I began my career in New York City in Mayor Bloomberg's Office of Criminal Justice. There, I wrote and managed state and federal grants to fund initiatives ranging from juvenile justice to the Violence Against Women Act to cold case files. I learned the importance of collaboration by working with five district attorney’s offices and myriad city agencies and community stakeholders. Since that time, I have worked predominantly for environmental and education causes, leading institutional fundraising in-house for several years before starting my own consultancy.

I have spent the past ten+ years writing and managing grants for a variety of amazing causes. I absolutely love diving into an issue and working with the team on the ground to put together a compelling proposal. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of San Diego and a Master’s in American Politics from Catholic University. You can find my LinkedIn profile here.
